This month’s Future Games Show revealed the official trailer for Robobeat, an upcoming rhythm shooter. Its development comes from Simon Fredholm with publishing by Kwalee. Move to the Music in Robobeat by Developer Simon Fredholm
Behold! You’re trapped within a techno-centric mansion owned by the Frazzer, an eccentric robot-showman. To escape the madness, players must shoot, jump, wall-run, and dodge to the rhythm of the beat. Like any other rhythm-based shooter, the player’s actions are determined by their flow instead of unhinged chaos. Not to mention that the game is also a roguelite, so you have to keep up with the beats.
The announcement trailer for Robobeat made its grand entrance during the Future Games Show in June 2022. With many announcements being fired back and forth, Robobeat could stand out. Its electric design comes with neon-esque environments and explosive action, coupled with pumpin’ music to drive the shooting up to speed. The trailer is quite the adrenaline ride, and it’s only fitting that we watch it here. Perhaps over and over again.
The developers will host a playtest for interested players in the near future. This is accessible through the Robobeat Steam page, where you can request access to the testing session. Additionally, players can follow a Twitter link to stay up to date with the game’s development. Regardless, Robobeat will drop sometime in 2023 for PC via Steam. We’re bound to see more kickin’ footage in the coming days as Simon Fredholm unveils his work for Robobeat.
