It’s safe to say that after the first trailer for GTA 6 was released hours ahead of schedule due to leaks, players had more questions than answers, one of those was regarding the much anticipated title’s release platforms. Given the graphics we saw, one would think that only a powerful PC would be capable of running the impressive-looking game, but that’s not the case. Just like its predecessor, console players will be the only ones who can enjoy Rockstar Games’ next open-world opus. However, if history has taught us anything, it’s that these developers will work hard to bring it to all platforms.
GTA 6 Confirms PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as Release Platforms
That’s right, GTA 6 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles in 2025. According to the official article, we can expect Grand Theft Auto‘s next entry to arrive exclusively on next-gen consoles. This isn’t new, as GTA 5 originally launched for PS3 and Xbox 360, a year later for PS4 and Xbox One, and two years later for PC. We hope this isn’t the case, but if the studio follows the same schedule, PC players might need to wait four years in total. However, we’re only speculating.
The fact that GTA 6 does not include PC as a release platform is quite shocking, given the popularity of the game’s multiplayer component in private servers. As you know, YouTube and Twitch are full of streamers playing GTA 5 on RageMP or FiveM, so not having this option and launch is strange.
Still, it’s too early to say what the developers might be thinking. With the game launching in 2025, we have time to see if things change. And if not, it always pays to be patient.
