Rocksteady Games, the developers behind the mainline Batman Arkham trilogy, has announced that they will be skipping E3 this year. This comes from Rocksteady co-founder Sefton Hill (via Twitter):

https://twitter.com/Seftonhill/status/1136038340652916736?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1136038340652916736%7Ctwgr%5E393039363b636f6e74726f6c&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gameinformer.com%2F2019%2F06%2F04%2Frocksteady-games-will-not-be-at-e3

After the monumental success of the Batman Arkham series, Rocksteady has been attached to many DC-related rumors over the past year. Days before E3 2018, it was “leaked” that the studio was creating a single-player Superman game titled Superman: World’s Finest.

In April 2018, a Suicide Squad title in the same vein as Bungie’s Destiny was rumored from WB Montreal, the team behind Batman Arkham Origins. WB Montreal has been rumored to be developing a similar style game with Red Hood and the Outlaws as the main characters as well.

Whether it is a Superman, Justice League, or another Batman game, Rocksteady’s next title will become one of the most talked about titles to watch out for whenever the developer decides to officially announce it. Hopefully, we see it before next year’s E3.

Speaking of E3, Rocksteady joins the long list of those skipping the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. Sony and EA will not have a press conference at E3 2019. Instead of a press conference, EA will host live streams showcasing their upcoming titles.

Games like Beyond Good & Evil 2, Starfield, Skull & Bones, and Elder Scrolls 6 won’t have a presence at the event either. Even though we won’t see any of these platforms or games, we can still expect to see a few good surprises next week. Microsoft is reportedly set to announce a slew of new titles. Ubisoft will most likely showcase Ghost Recon Breakpoint and the just announced Watch Dogs Legion. Not only that but Nintendo is sure to have a few shocking reveals this year too.

Are you disappointed with this news? What game do you think Rocksteady is working on? Let us know in the comments below!
