Rod Stewart is not the kind of man to let anything hold him back. Once he sets his sights on something, he sees it through. Most men his age would be slowing down in life. However, the Maggie May singer is doing just the opposite, and it has his family fearing for his life.
Throughout his life, singer Rod Stewart has always set goals and surpassed them all. However, his latest goal is pretty ambitious for a man of 80. So ambitious that it has his family growing very concerned.

The rock legend has stunned fans and horrified his loved ones by revealing he’s gunning to set a new world record. Insiders tell Radar Online that Sir Rod has begun training on his mansion’s private 100-meter track.
Rod Stewart plans to supersede his current best time of 19 seconds in the hope of winning the World Record Title currently held by Kenton Brown. In 2024, Brown, of Las Vegas, Nevada, at 80 years, 32 days, won the 100-meter track record with a time of 14.21. Meaning, Stewart has some work ahead of him to beat the current winning time.
Rod Stewart’s Hard Partying Ways Cause Alarm
It is no secret that over the years, Rod Stewart has led a hard-partying rock and roll lifestyle. As previously reported, the singer has admitted that his lifestyle is not for everyone. But despite past health issues, Stewart claims that he still “goes mad” on the booze after each show.
“I’m aware my days are numbered, but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can,” Stewart stated.

The singer’s love of excess, especially regarding alcohol, has his family very concerned about his desire to take the world record title. They believe there are a lot of potential risks associated with his intense training at his age.
Sources state that his family members have pleaded with him: “Don’t do it! We’re worried your heart will literally explode.” However, Rod is not worried. He admits he stays on top of his health more these days and enjoys keeping himself fit.
When he is not touring, Rod says he stays fit. He has an indoor pool, a decked-out gym, a personal golf course and the same personal trainer for 40 years to keep him active. Last night, the AMA celebrated Stewart’s illustrious career by presenting him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Fans were left stunned by the singer’s humble acceptance speech. Not to mention his first performance at the award show in more than two decades. So, for Rod Stewart, it seems grabbing a world title would be the perfect way to round out an already memorable year.
