RPG Dice: Heroes of Whitestone launches today on iOS and Android. It is the first game released by Texas-based developer WIMO Games. The developer announced the arrival of the game in a press release earlier today, where they also summarized what players can expect from this mobile RPG:
“Set forth on a journey through dangerous dungeons, treacherous terrain, and various mysterious locales. Roll dice to progress through 10 different campaigns in a winding board game, where the party of heroes face different scenarios based on the tiles they land on.. Snappy turn-based battles, blacksmith encounters to improve gear, NPCs that offer or continue quests, and more all reside as tiles across the boards.”
According to the press release, players choose from more than 60 characters to build a five-person team. Then, the heroes set out on their adventures to save the land of Whitestone from a variety of enemies by accepting quests, upgrading equipment, and engaging in turn-based combat. Players can also join forces by forming guilds with other players, or compete with one another in RPG Dice: Heroes of Whitestone‘s PVP mode.
WIMO Games may be a new studio, but they are no strangers to video games. Their team includes former employees from several industry giants, such as Electronic Arts and Zynga. Today’s press release featured a quote from WIMO Games’ CEO, Dave Rosen, expressing excitement for the new mobile game:
“Making RPG Dice: Heroes of Whitestone was a dream come true for us to pay homage to the tabletop roleplaying games we love with many of the great collaborative features mobile gaming enables” said Dave Rosen, CEO, WIMO Games. “We’re proud of our first worldwide release and excited to grow the world of Whitestone and make even more games in the future.”
