Rude Ohio Resident Block Neighbors Driveway for 8 Hours ‘Should Have Called a Tow Truck 7 Hours Ago’

Good thing no emergency happened

In big cities, parking is a recurring problem, with so many spaces or parking lots too expensive to leave our cars. But this is even more annoying when it comes to leaving your vehicle in a safe space in front of your own house. Sometimes there will be neighbors like this one in Ohio who hog the space and block the driveway of others, but it’s particularly ridiculous when it’s for so long and with a giant truck. Understandably, sometimes there is not enough space, but blocking someone from leaving their own home for so long is unacceptable.

This truck has been parked in front of my driveway for 8 hours.

Redditor AlbinoStoot shared on r/mildlyinfuriating how their neighbors in Ohio blocked their driveway with a truck. According to OP, the truck owners are new neighbors who moved in a month ago, and since then, trucks have been showing up on the street. Only this time, the neighbors thought it was a good idea to hog the entire driveway, preventing OP from getting out in their car. Luckily, OP said they were working from home that day and their wife had the day off, so they didn’t do anything sooner. However, as time went on, OP started to worry because the next day they had to leave by car at 4:30 am. The worst part was that there was no one at the neighbor’s house to ask for the truck to be moved.

OP spent all day watching to see if the truck was still in the driveway, but at 10:30 pm, they decided to ask for help on Reddit. Among the comments, the one that stood out was from DryMeet944, who wrote, “You should have called a tow truck 7 hours ago”. Other redditors also wondered why OP let the problem go so far, but OP explained that since they were new neighbors, they didn’t want to get in trouble with them. OP also added that if no one removed the truck, they would call the police and let the owners deal with them.

Fortunately, the problem didn’t escalate any further, because after OP wrote about the issue on Reddit, at 11 pm, the neighbors removed the truck. This left OP’s driveway free so they could leave early the next day. Still, many people commented that OP should not let people walk all over him and that he should keep in mind that if there were an emergency, it would be tough for they to leave.
