Whenever a new State of Play is announced, speculation is let loose, and we’re all thinking about which games will get a spotlight at this event. While the official announcement claims it will showcase many games coming to PS5, there is more information out there pointing to even more exciting releases. According to recent leaks, a remaster of the Greek God of War games could be coming, and according to them, it might arrive “sooner than expected.”
The rumors come from user Feeling-Examination6 on Reddit. To provide a bit of context, this leaker was right about the recent Ninja Gaiden announcements and the release date for Hell is Us, which was then confirmed by the X account of @PlaystationSize. With all of these things, it is safe to say that their leaks have been right most of the time.
In a recent post, Feeling-Examination6 discussed the State of Play ahead of the official announcement. In a comment, they mentioned the Remaster of the Greek God of War Games.
As you can see, they mention it is some type of collection, but the release date is uncertain. Furthermore, they claim it may arrive “sooner than expected,” so that raises a few eyebrows.
Some users believe this collection might arrive with the next month’s PS Plus games, but that might be too soon. However, we’ve seen other companies shadow-drop remasters out of nowhere. So if Xbox and Koei Tecmo did it, Sony could do that as well.
Ultimately, these are all just rumors, and, as we always say, you should take them with a grain of salt. In any case, having a Remastered collection of all the Greek God of War Games would be amazing. While the recent God of War titles have been amazing, we miss the old-school hack-and-slash from Kratos’ savage days. Hopefully, we’ll see them again in a proper remaster for modern platforms.
