There is a new rumor going around regarding the DCEU’s plans at San Diego Comic Con 2018. This rumor, which was first reported by Screenrant, states that the plan for the panel will include trailers for both Aquaman and Shazam!, the first look at Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2, Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck on stage together discussing The Batman, and a complete unveiling of the next phase of DCEU films.
This rumor comes from Los Angeles writer Daniel R who responded to a DCEU fan voicing his wishlist for the event via Twitter:
SDCC DCEU WISH LIST
-Aquaman trailer and Panel
-Shazam teaser
-WW84 Cheetah Image Reveal
-Official Slate Reveal (With the Cyborg film included)
-Affleck and Reeves on stage together— PiScEs27 AKA: Gandalf's Apprentice (@Josh2Gud4U) June 3, 2018
Take this with a grain of salt but I'm hearing that's exactly what we'll get. But again, it's just a rumor for now. https://t.co/NYXPtAjZSb

Trailers for both Aquaman and Shazam! are all but guaranteed to be shown at SDCC 2018. The Cheetah reveal for Wonder Woman 2 also seems likely to be presented in some kind of way as well, whether that be Wiig as Cheetah in a poster format or just concept art for the character.
Where the rumor can fall apart lies with Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck sharing a stage together. Reeves still doesn’t have a script for The Batman yet and Affleck may not even be playing the Dark Knight in Reeves’ film. The likelihood of them sharing a stage together to promote the film are slim to none.
Finally, we have the official slate reveal (with a solo Cyborg film included). This is a toss-up. If they unveil their slate for the next “phase” of DCEU films, it will probably not include a Cyborg solo movie. It is important to note that Daniel R also stated that this was not likely to happen as he hasn’t heard any news about the project for quite a while.
With The Batman, Shazam!, The Flash (which may not even include Flashpoint anymore), Green Lantern Corps., Wonder Woman 2, Suicide Squad 2, Birds of Prey, and possibly even Man of Steel 2, Cyborg just doesn’t fit in the DCEU’s “phase two”.
A reason to believe a slate reveal is on the horizon for the DCEU is that Warner Bros. may want to soft reboot the universe after the critical and box office duds over the last few years. Presenting a coherent road map of sorts to the audience is a great way to start that process.
SDCC starts July 19th, 2018 and ends July 22th, 2018.
