Evan Peters taking on the role of Jeffrey Dahmer exploded as one of the biggest hits in Netflix history, and Ryan Murphy is expanding on the Monster franchise. The American Horror Story creator is known for his anthologies and will deliver two more shows about infamous serial killers on the streaming service. His series The Watcher has also been renewed for a second season.
Ryan Murphy working on two more Monster series is no surprise due to the success of Dahmer, heading toward 1 billion hours viewed. The series has been controversial as families of the victims have spoken out against the series and reported discriminatory treatment of some Black crew members. The creator claimed to have reached out to some of the families but received no call back from any of them as the making of the serial killer was underway.
