A lot of Marvel actors are known for spoiling their own movies. Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo are the biggest culprits. However, several other cast members, like Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, and Evangeline Lilly, have found themselves accidentally oversharing in interviews and on social media. As for Ryan Reynolds, he doesn’t have that problem. In fact, he’s apparently so good at remaining tight-tipped that he’s been keeping a huge secret from Marvel themselves.
In a new interview with Marvel Korea, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman sat down with Stray Kids members Bang Chan and Felix to discuss their appearance in the K-pop group’s “Chk Chk Boom” music video. Considering the actors made cameos as Deadpool and Wolverine, you’d think the pair would have gotten permission from Marvel to suit up as their characters outside of the MCU. However, that wasn’t the case.
Reynolds told Bang Chan and Felix that he agreed to be in their music video without even telling the company about it first. “Marvel has no idea I did that,” Reynolds said in reference to his cameo. Bang Chan gasped in response. Felix was just as in disbelief as he asked the Canadian star, “Really?” to which Reynolds replied, “That’s part of the fun.”
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Cameo as Deadpool and Wolverine In “Chk Chk Boom”
It’s unclear how long Reynolds has been keeping his “Chk Chk Boom” cameo a secret from Marvel. Regardless, the company doesn’t seem to mind him collaborating with Stray Kids. After all, the group did record an original song for the Deadpool and Wolverine soundtrack. The track, titled “Slash,” will be released alongside the rest of the album on Wednesday, July 24. Deadpool and Wolverine will then hit theaters two days later on Friday, July 26.
