Salma Hayek’s revelation about finances in her marriage is rubbing fans the wrong way. The actress has been married to Billionaire businessman Francois-Henri Pinault for almost two decades. However, despite her husband’s net worth of $20 billion, Hayek says she can’t stop working hard to make more money.
The Frida star spoke about money during an interview with The Wall Street Journal, saying she funds most of her lifestyle with her net worth of $200 million. “I support a lot of the aspects of my life and myself,” she told the publication. “I have the pressure to make a certain amount of money, and I like it. And now, I decided, I want to make more.” Hayek explained that she and Pinault “keep their finances separate” and have “no prenuptial agreement dividing assets.“
Hayek further revealed that her desire to earn more is greatly adored by her husband, who finds her work ethic “kind of sexy.” Although Pinault is one of the world’s richest men, the native Mexican says he wasn’t her first introduction to wealth. She credited her father, who was an oil executive. However, he lost his wealth in his 20s, pushing Hayek to become a breadwinner. “That’s when I became the best version of myself,” she said.
Fans ‘Don’t Feel Sorry’ For Salma Hayek Despite Pressure
Hayek’s candid confession caused quite an uproar among fans who believed she was playing the victim.
“I feel so bad for her! It must be tough to be married to a billionaire,” mocked one fan, while another wrote, “Such a victim.”
A third sarcastic comment read, “Omg, it must be so hard for her!”
A fourth fan declared, “I don’t feel sorry for her, please,” while this user penned, “Lordy, being worth 200 million has her feeling pressured?“
Hayek is no stranger to talking about money as regards her husband. However, fans might not want to hear more after this.
