Australian actress Samara Weaving has officially been cast in Eenie Meanie, a new heist thriller from the desk of The Continental co-creator Shawn Simmons. Simmons will be directing the film with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick having penned the script. No other castings have been announced for the movie yet, and Samara Weaving’s specific role in Eenie Meanie is currently being kept under wraps, though there has been some speculation that she’s set for the lead role.
Similar to Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver (2017), Eenie Meanie follows a young woman who gets pulled back into her unsavory past as a teenage getaway driver when one of her former employers gives her a chance to save her “chronically unreliable” ex, per Deadline. It’s unclear which of these roles Weaving is set to fill, as neither she nor Shawn Simmons have released any details with the announcement of her casting. There’s some speculation that Samara Weaving will join Eenie Meanie in the main role as the protagonist, the unnamed ex-getaway driver. Still, we cannot confirm anything until official word comes from the people in the know about the new movie.
