Have you ever wished you could see your favorite fictional medieval TV series characters get together to sing some songs? Neither have I. But that’s exactly what’s going to happen at San Diego Comic-Con this year from July 20 – 23. This unlicensed, unabashed, un-blood-and-guts production, which has nothing to do with HBO channel and the producers of the series, will deliver eight chances for fans to sit down and have some laughs. The show will go on at the 10th Avenue Arts Center in San Diego’s Gas Lamp district (what the heck kind of name is that?). The GoT Musical Parody tickets can be found here.
Don’t worry about skipping panels to attend, the shows are late in the day after most of the other stuff is finished. The schedule for San Diego Comic-Con performances is:
Thursday, July 20 – 6:00 p.m.; 9:00 p.m.
Friday, July 21 – 6:00 p.m.; 9:00 p.m.; 12:00 a.m. (midnight)
Saturday, July 22 – 6:00 p.m.; 9:00 p.m.
Sunday, July 23 – 1:00 p.m.
And if you decide you simply must have these songs to listen to whenever you want, and not just at San Diego Comic Con, they’re available for dirt cheap on that website for $0.99 individually, or you can buy a physical CD (or so it says, despite there being no actual option to get one at the moment. The full digital soundtrack costs $15, but you’re not being ripped off – there are 16 songs in total, including some acoustics and a couple bonus tracks, so the price evens out.
Aside from the musical, there’s no official schedule of events for Game of Thrones at the con as of yet. Of course, San Diego Comic-Con isn’t the only place to catch GoT. Season seven premieres mid-July, just before the con hits. So if you’re one of those who’ve been parched from the lack of GoT fixes in between seasons, you’re about to get a mouthful of it, so whet your appetite.
