There are a lot of things you might expect when you’re on a plane. Maybe a bit of cramped space, the hum of the engines, a touch of exhaustion, or even a pretty view if you’re lucky enough to snag a window seat. What you probably don’t expect, though, is to find a naked man dancing in the bathroom. But that’s exactly what happened on a recent British Airways flight from San Francisco, California to London.
The male flight attendant was supposed to be handing out food to passengers during the long-haul flight. When he suddenly failed to show up for his duties, his colleagues began to grow concerned. After searching the aircraft, they eventually found him. He wasn’t taking a break or dealing with a personal emergency. Instead, he had stripped off his clothes and was dancing inside the toilet.
It didn’t take long for the rest of the crew to realize that something was clearly wrong. Some suspected drug use might have been involved, as it was difficult to imagine another reason for such unusual behavior mid-flight. Acting quickly, the other flight attendants dressed him in a pair of first-class passenger pajamas and secured him in a seat at the front of the plane, where he stayed for the remainder of the 10-hour journey from San Francisco.
When the flight finally landed at Heathrow, the man was taken to a hospital for a health check to ensure he was stable. Afterward, police arrested him on suspicion of being unfit for duty. He was later released, but the investigation is still ongoing as authorities try to piece together what exactly happened during the bizarre incident.
While some found the situation deeply concerning, many internet users couldn’t help but find humor in the bizarre incident. One Redditor joked, “He’s been transferred to the cockpit,” poking fun at the absurdity of it all. Others commented on how surreal the experience must’ve been for the crew who discovered him. One user wrote, “That is hilarious. Imagine thinking someone might’ve had a medical emergency, only to find them naked in the toilet dancing up and down.”
Another user joked that the crew should’ve just let the man have his moment. “Come on now! He was in the bathroom! Can’t a man have a mental breakdown resulting in a naked one-man dance party on a transatlantic flight in peace anymore!?” one Redditor quipped.
Someone else chimed in with a more personal take, sharing that they had recently flown on the same British Airways route from San Francisco to London aboard the Airbus A380. “I will never look at that crew the same way again,” they said.
