Out of all the States in the U.S., California has the most registered motorcycles on the road, per Statista. As San Francisco is one of the largest cities in The Golden State, it’s fair to say that bikers are a pretty common sight in the area. While most motorcycle enthusiasts follow the strict laws of the road, like wearing DOT-approved helmets or holding a Class M1 licence, a few sometimes stray outside the safety of the law, and put their lives — and other road users — in danger. Case in point: a San Francisco motorcyclist decided to do a wheelie on a busy street and show off his ridin’ skills, only to crash into a bus in an eye-rollingly cringe clip.
The brief 6-second video opens on a busy San Francisco street as a topless man on a blue and white motorbike lifts his front wheel in the air and does a wheelie along the road at great speed. For the first few moments, a few viewers may even be kind of impressed by the stunt, as the man wheelies along at around 30-ish mph. But lo and behold, those initial feelings of awe are quickly shattered into smithereens.
Why? Because about two seconds later, the brave (read: idiotic) biker crashes head-on into the bumper of a large red and white bus. You can hear the rider yell, “Oh, f**k!” as he collides with the bus and clatters to the ground in a heap of embarrassment.
With the footage circulating online, most netizens were left unimpressed by the rider’s display of “showmanship.” One Redditor wrote, “I love it when that happens 😅😅😅😅😅” and another jokingly added, “Is the bus ok?” Over on Instagram, however, one commenter was actually left pretty amazed by the stunt, penning, “He landed on his feet! Skills“
