Savannah Guthrie Offers $1M Reward as Search for Mom Enters Day 24
In a heartfelt Instagram video captioned, ‘Someone knows how to find our mom and bring her home,’ the Today co-anchor urged anyone with information to come forward. “We need to know where she is, we need her to come home,” she said. Guthrie acknowledged the possibility that her mother may have died: “We also know that she may be lost, she may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the lord that she loves.”
“If you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward. Tell what you know and help us bring our beloved mom home so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave, noble and courageous life that she has lived. Please be the light in the dark,” Guthrie continued.
The family has also donated $500,000 to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, hoping their high-profile search will bring attention to other families in similar situations. Critics have suggested that the reward reflects growing frustration with the handling of the case by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, with some urging the FBI to take the lead, per the Daily Mail.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her Tucson home on January 31. Authorities believe she was abducted, and evidence, including drops of blood and doorbell camera footage, has yet to lead to an arrest. Investigators warn that the suspect may have surveilled the home before the abduction, signaling a calculated and sophisticated crime.
Community Rallies with Prayers and Social Media Support
As the search enters its 24th day, volunteers have combed nearby desert areas, while an outpouring of flowers, ribbons, and prayers continues to grow outside Nancy’s home. The comment section of Savannah’s post has been flooded with messages of hope and solidarity.
Among thousands of comments. one user stated: “Praying someone hears this and will be brave enough to step forward and be the light in the darkness. Sending you love, prayers and hope. ❤️”
Prayers did not stop coming as a commenter is: “Praying constantly. For the family. That Jesus would be so near. We are all with you, hurting and praying and still hoping. ❤️”
The CS was also filled with hopes for justice as one said: “Someone does know and has known and I believe this was not random. They will catch them and we will bring her home. Prayers and strength, love and light ☀️ 💛”
The Guthrie family continues to urge anyone with information to step forward, hoping either for Nancy’s safe return or for closure in this heartbreaking case.
