The creative team of Steve Orlando and Carlos Nieto continue what they started in the solo Scarlet Witch series with this oversized annual. This time, Wanda is going toe-to-toe with her former mentor.

Scarlet Witch Vs. Agatha Harkness
Agatha Harkness recently underwent a rejuvenation in the Marvel Universe. Now, she is on a crash course for her old student, Wanda Maximoff. Orlando and Nieto are bringing the two mystical women face-to-face for the first time since Agatha came back to her younger, more powerful self. Of course, Agatha is in for a surprise as the Scarlet Witch recently absorbed Chthon, making her a more formidable foe.
The battle between these two former friends kicks off Marvel’s next biggest event, the Contest of Chaos. Now, Marvel is offering a first look at Scarlet Witch Annual #1 to see how exactly this all goes down.
Exclusive Sneak Peek
In the first look at the oversized issue, Agatha Harkness makes quite the entrance when she shows up at Wanda’s Emporium. As she sits down with Wanda to enjoy a cup of tea, the Scarlet Witch seems to discover something that startles her. Perhaps Agatha’s true motives are revealed. Then, the sneak peek shows the two women in a high-flying sword fight above what looks to be a pirate ship. Is this the fight that kicks off the Contest of Chaos?
Another page shows Agatha Harkness and Wanda Maximoff slamming into the shoulder of the Living Tribunal. Still in the throes of a deadly fight. Then the two are seen sharing a slice of pizza and roaming the city streets like old pals. Whether this is before or after the deadly fight is unknown. Knowing the history between these two powerful women, it could easily be after a vicious battle.
Sadly, this is just a small taste of what is to come in Scarlet Witch Annual #1. To see how the Contest of Chaos kicks off, you will have to pick up the issue on June 21.
