Out of all the different types of Karens out there, loud and obnoxious ones can often prove to be the most entertaining. Indeed, while we’ve been “treated” to an assortment of overly entitled women lately — from closet racists to even aggressive bullies — a feisty screeching California Karen was spotted in the wild recently. Not only did she harass and berate her neighbors , but she also ended up calling the cops. However, things didn’t quite go the way she had planned, and the four-part interaction was caught on camera.
In the first part of a series of clip on TikTok, the Karen in question — sporting an orange t-shirt and black leg-ins — can be seen approaching her neighbors in a California suburb. Essentially, she’s complaining about her neighbors’ vehicle idling, which is producing exhaust fumes that the Karen is not too pleased with. “Two hours. Last time, three. What is that? What is it going on? The fumes. The fumes are polluting California.” fires the woman. Calmly, one of the neighbors replies, “I mean, you might as well tell everyone on the highway to stop driving then. They’re all polluting California.” Looking them straight in the eye, the irate woman responds, “They’re not my neighbors. You guys are. You have a responsibility.”
As the heated exchange begins to intensify, the angry Karen accuses her “loud” neighbors of devaluing her property, even though she doesn’t intend to sell her house any time soon. On top of that, she also comes up with the idea of starting her own neighborhood watch and claims that other neighbors have been complaining as well. She then asks the three young men for the keys to the idling vehicle so that she can go and turn off the engine, but they decline to give them to her. Instead, one of the young men goes over and turns off the engine himself.
In the second part, the Karen then starts to complain about a blue sign that is on her neighbors’ property. To her, she claims that every time she sees it, it “blinds” her. “You guys are slobs. What is going on in there?” declares the Karen as she continues her angry rant pointing inside their building. Meanwhile, she then takes aim at the garbage that is on their property. “I’m trying to tell you how to fix it.” claims the infuriated woman. “Don’t ever leave that car on again or else I’m gonna call the authorities. Okay?”
In an amusing twist, however, one of the “slob” neighbors heads over to the vehicle to turn on the engine, just to spite the Karen. “That’s it. I’m calling the police. You guys are just crazy.” declares the Karen, frustrated. “My botox bill is coming to you!“
In part three, the police finally arrive on the scene, and the Karen explains to the two police officer how her neighbors’ car fumes are “polluting the streets of LA” and giving her “headaches.” Moreover, she also tells the officers how the blue sign on their property is blinding her, before then complain about the “mess” in their refuse area. “Ma’am, that’s their house. They can have whatever they want.” says the male police officer calmly. After some further back and forth, the officer concludes, “I don’t really see a crime here.”
After claiming that the rest of the neighborhood feel the same way as her, but are too scared to confront the neighbors, the female officer exclaims, “So, you’re actually the only person who has complained. We’ve never got any complaints about them.” Reasoning with her further, the male officer says, “If anything, that might be a code violation.” The Karen pipes up, “Yeah, get ’em on code violation! Code violation!” though the police nonchalantly agree that it’s not a genuine crime, to the Karen’s chagrin. “We honestly have better things to do,” admits the male officer.
However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when the Karen begins picking up her neighbors’ trash and throwing it around on their property. She then heads into her neighbors’ house, which is trespassing and is breaking the law.
The final part reveals the Karen nonchalantly entering her neighbors’ house. “Ma’am, this is private property. You have to go out.” expresses the female officer as they escort her out of the property. On the way out, however, the Karen kicks the Tesla in the driveway, and yells, “F*ck Elon Musk! It’s not me it’s them!” before the police take her by the arm and shepherd her towards their police cruiser. “We’re gonna take you home. Come on.” says the officer.
“Why are you taking me? Take them!” screeches the irate Karen as she’s guided into the back of the police vehicle by the police officials. Turning to the neighbors, the officer explains, “We’re just gonna take her back to her house. If she comes back, just call us back. Okay?“
As the clip continues to gather momentum and garner reactions from across the internet, netizens flooded the comments section to voice their thoughts. “IF she wants to sell it.. but youโre not planning on selling it.. so why is it a problem.. Karen walk away” wrote one TikTok user, with another chiming in with, “This is ridiculous! I would have called the cops and had her arrested for trespassing! Who does she think she is??!!??โ“
