Floyd Hunt is back on MK fans! After years of silence, there’s a new buzz about the Floyd secret ninja in Mortal Kombat 1. Ed Boon’s mysterious fighter has appeared in the game, but we still don’t know the details about him and how this new character actually plays. It could be a bug, or MK1 is getting a brand new secret stage fight featuring a pink ninja called Floyd.

The story of Floyd started years ago, when Ed Boon, creator of Mortal Kombat, responded to a fan saying that he likes to create a new ninja character like Scorpion and Sub-Zero and call him Floyd. The news went viral and many of the MK fans thought that this new ninja would appear in Mortal Kombat 1. Dataminers added more fuel to this rumor’s fire by noting that the name Floyd is in fact found in the game files.

There haven’t been any pink ninjas or anything in Mortal Kombat 1, but Super, a Mortal Kombat content creator has recently found something strange related to Floyd in his recent gameplay. While he was playing with Conan The Barbarian‘s early access, a new logo appeared on the left side of his screen that reads Floyd in the color pink!

The secret floyd fight in MK1 is coming with conan. I somehow activated it but didn't actually go into the match. I tried to get it again but was not successful.

Super says “I somehow activated it but didn’t actually go into the match.” Watch the video above if you want to take a closer look at what happens when a Floyd logo appears with a guitar audio playing in the background. Accordingly, he’s been playing in the Living Forest map many times, and only this time did he get the Floyd to activate. And since he was spamming the button to enter the rematch, we can’t really see if there’s a prompt to enter a secret fight with Floyd or not.

This event happening in the Living Forest could be a nod to the older MK games where players would face unknown ninjas like Smoke and Reptile by winning, like, 30 opponents in a row. Now Floyd could be a similar addition to Mortal Kombat 1 with Conan The Barbarian update, or maybe it’s just a random bug.

Whatever the case, the developers really did add Floyd as part of something in MK1, and we can expect the dataminers to reveal more info about this soon.
