We now have a release date for From Softwares next big title. From Software, developers behind the Dark Souls series and Bloodborne will launch their next game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on March 22nd, 2019. The news comes from publisher Activision at Gamescom 2018.
Additionally, Activision announced that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be getting a collectors addition. The collector’s edition will come with the full game, a stunning steelbook case, a 7-inch statue of the main protagonist, collectable coins, an artbook and the soundtrack.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was first teased back in December 2017 with a vague teaser showing nothing more than the From Software logo, and the phrase “Shadows die twice.” Many fans speculated that it may be teasing a sequel to the highly praised Bloodborne.
We got our confirmation and first look at Sekiro at E3 2018 on the Microsoft stage where we saw gameplay our first glimpse of the upcoming title. It may not be the sequel to Bloodborne that many had hoped for, but it seems that From Software is still bringing something new and exciting to the table. The trailer, which can be viewed below, displays many new enemy types, a stunning setting and an emphasis on new traversal mechanics.
The official synopsis for the title is as follows:
Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a single-player game that puts players in the protagonist role of a hard-hearted warrior whose mission is to rescue his master, a young lord, and exact revenge on his arch nemesis. Players will enjoy combining features, such as vertical traversal, with visceral head-to-head battle to fulfill their destiny in a vast world filled with beautiful vistas, enormous castles, bizarre weaponry, and fearsome enemies.
Luckily, fans wont have to wait long to get their hands on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Activision announced that the game will be playable for the first time at Gamescom 2018, this week. Sekiro will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
