Selena Gomez has been lurking a lot on TikTok these days. Over the weekend, the singer reacted to a year-old video speculating whether she had any plastic surgery done. Now, she just responded to a fan who made a wild claim about her and Benny Blanco’s relationship.
The fan claimed Gomez wouldn’t have considered dating Benny Blanco years ago during her “It Girl” era. “I know and so do you that at the time she would never have gotten engaged to Benny,” they wrote, alongside an edit of Gomez during the 2010s.
So many others agreed Gomez wouldn’t have given Benny Blanco a second glance when she was younger. “She knew her worth,” one comment read. “I’ve been saying this! 2015/16 Selena would NEVER be with Benny,” another fan chimed in.
While many dubbed the 2010s Gomez’s “prime” days, the Rare Beauty founder revealed it couldn’t be further from the truth. “Kinda makes me laugh because I was so depressed back then lol,” she said.
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have been going strong for a year. Although some fans have criticized her relationship with the record producer, Gomez appears happy with him. Earlier this month, she even called Blanco the “love of my life” on her Instagram Story.
Luckily, Blanco seems just as serious about his feelings toward Gomez. While appearing on The Howard Stern Show in May, Blanco revealed he eventually wants to settle down with the singer. When Stern said he sees wedding bells in their future, Blanco agreed by saying, “You and me both.”
