Selena Gomez is getting candid about her issues with infertility. The Love Me Like A Love Song singer recently told Vanity Fair about many private aspects of her life, including her relationship with Benny Blanco.
In the interview, Selena Gomez stated,
I haven’t ever said this, but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children. I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while.
In 2013, Selena Gomez shared that she was battling with lupus, an autoimmune disease that affects the body’s healthy tissues and organs. Due to her condition, she received a kidney transplant in 2017. In addition to these ailments, the actress and beauty maven has bipolar disorder.
However, Gomez states that she is not letting her inability to have kids bring her down, saying that although it was not what she had envisioned for herself, she has come to terms with it. Gomez added,
I find it a blessing that extraordinary people are willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.
Selena Gomez Opens Up About Relationship With Benny Blanco
Selena Gomez has been dating music producer Benny Blanco since 2019, and it appears to be her most healthy relationship yet. The two have gushed about each other on social media and in many interviews, leaving fans feeling confident that she has found her forever person.
However, Gomez recently added new insights into her romance with Blanco, telling Vanity Fair, “I’ve never been loved this way. He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”
In a surprising move, Gomez stated that should she and Blanco get married, she has no intention of changing her last name. She says this is because she wants to remain true to herself. When asked what Blanco’s thoughts were on this, Gomez stated, “We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules. I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”
