There has been a lot going on in the last week with the untitled Han Solo film. From Phil Lord and Christopher Miller being removed as directors, to Ron Howard being hired and promising his finest work. It’s been a crazy trip. But the ending won’t come until next year when the film is released in May. Until we can only speculate to how the movie will turn out in the end. More speculation revolves around what the title will be at the moment, as that’s a piece of the puzzle we still don’t know.
What could this new venture into a galaxy far, far away be titled? It’s possible that the movie could take on a title similar to that of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, where the ending line is tagged on like Han Solo: A Star Wars Story. That would be one way to do it. Consistency has always been a part of the Star Wars legacy. The opening credits that roll down in space, revealing the backdrop for each film; titles of the main films are organized by “Episodes”; and the theme of good and evil remains intact within every Star Wars movie. Could be a possibility. But recent photos taken from the set reveal a possible title that sounds much more appealing.

The back side of the T has the slogan “We shot first,” paying tribute to the classic standoff between Han and Greedo. The front side shows off a fancy insignia, one that looks like how a title would look as it rolls at the end of a trailer. Could Star Wars: Solo be the title of the standalone Han Solo film? It’s short and sweet. And the clever replacement of the “L” in Solo with Han’s DL-44 blaster pistol… Both suggest that this could be the name we have been looking for. There’s no statement saying that this is the official title. So, until that day comes, we’ll be like Han in his cryogenic freeze state: stuck and waiting.
