Marcus Jordan is speaking up after his headline-making arrest days ago. The son of NBA legend Michael Jordan was booked into jail on DUI and cocaine possession. However, his first statement since the incident has fans thinking there are more arrests to come.
“I appreciate everyone reaching out,” Marcus began his statement shared on X. “I’m focusing on@TrophyRoomStore right now and won’t be making any comments on recent media stories and my personal life.” The socialite concluded his short message:
“I sincerely appreciate your concerns & thank you for your kind understanding.”
Alongside the response were photos of the store, a men’s fashion store in Orlando, Florida, focusing on his dad’s Jordan sneakers. One of the images was an art piece of his father’s iconic Chicago Bulls jersey. The 34-year-old’s post comes just a day after he crashed his Lamborghini sports car during a drunk driving incident. The drama went down around 1 am in Maitland when Marcus fled a traffic stop before getting stuck on a train track. A blonde young woman was in the passenger seat of the luxury vehicle.
Bodycam footage of the arrest showed Marcus urging cops on the scene to help move his $300,000 vehicle, which was stuck on the tracks.
Marcus Jordan Tried To Use Dad’s Name To Get Out of Jail
While trying to convince cops that his luxury vehicle was of utmost priority, Marcus failed three field sobriety tests. Cops also found a bag of cocaine in his front right pocket, the Mail reports. Despite his crimes, the second Jordan son resisted arrest, even evoking his famous father’s name to go scot-free.
“I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong, I’m just trying to get home and I made a wrong turn. Clearly, we would just like to get our car off of the f**king train tracks.”
Unfortunately, nepotism didn’t work in Marcus’ favor as officials handcuffed him and took him to Orange County jail, where he was booked. He was later released on a $4,000 bond. Marcus doesn’t seem bothered about the alarming circumstances of his arrest, as evident in the tone of his tweet. Fans are heavily criticizing his nonchalant attitude.
“Typical spoiled, do nothing, haven’t accomplished anything child of a successful parent,” one fan slammed.
“Pathetic. Absolutely no desire to be his own man. 100% fine sponging off dad from business to dealing with police,” another comment read.
“You know you’re a loser when you have to namedrop your famous father,” a third follower wrote.
“Shameless, unrepentant nepo,” this fan slammed.
Marcus is the second-eldest child of Michael Jordan and his first wife, Juanita Vanoy. The NBA legend has yet to comment on his son’s disgraceful arrest, letting fans do all the talking.
