Airbnb is a company that allows people to rent out their properties to travelers looking for long- or short-term stays. It’s similar to a hotel, though the host has the authority to lay down different rules according to their preferences.
After deliberating with the host and Airbnb, the couple decided to leave and request a refund. However, according to the video, the company is refusing the refund and asking the couple to request one from the host.
At this, one commenter wrote, “Please write a bad review this could save someone else. Sorry for your experience. Stay safe.🙌🏿“
Reactions to Strange Airbnb Experience in Plantation, Florida
The couple uploaded additional videos on TikTok about the situation, detailing the Airbnb’s specific location and even showing images of eviction notices allegedly posted on the home.
A conversation with the Trust & Safety team at Airbnb was also shared, where the couple explains the situation to report the host and request a refund. Some commenters believe this conversation was written by an AI Assistant, with one person commenting with, “i dont think you were talking to a real person at all. thats crazy. get a lawyer something is wrong here.”
The original video continues to trend on TikTok because of safety issues surrounding how Airbnb screens its hosts and handles serious situations. A final update was posted, revealing that a full refund had been processed.
