There are many ways to propose to your significant other. At the end of the day, the point is for the moment to be special between the two of you. However, there are definitely instances where another person decides to be a main character and ruin the moment. A St. Louis, Missouri, couple was absolutely horrified when they discovered a man not only ruined their engagement video, but had also admitted to being a murderer. That wasn’t something I was expecting, truly.

The above video was posted to the TikTok account @avareynolds23, which belongs to a woman named Ava Reynolds. Her profile is rather barren, with only three videos available to watch. However, all three videos are related, showing the absurd story of how a man confessed to being a murderer to the couple’s engagement videographer.

Everything starts off pretty normal, with Ava and her fiancé in the background inside the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. Just as her boyfriend begins to speak, a man suddenly walks into frame, apologizing for being a murderer.

More specifically, you can hear him say, “I’m a murderer, I’m a murderer. I need help. I’ve killed plenty of people. I do not want to kill anyone else.” You can hear another person, likely the videographer, trying to get the man to leave or at least move away from the camera. However, the confession comes out like a waterfall, and he kneels down to continue disclosing that he is a murderer.

Commentators were just as appalled by this as I was, with a lot of people not actually believing what they just saw. In fact, two of the top comments said, “This is going to be the wildest opening scene to a Netflix series one day,” and “Was your videographer dressed up like a confessional booth?!??“

However, other replies talk about the root of the conversation: the supposed murders. One comment allegedly explains things, saying, “So he’s from st. louis… name is Bradley D. according to a Facebook post I saw. His neighbor commented on it and said he seemed pretty normal… so crazy that this happened 😳 I need an update.“

Fortunately, Ava did post an update. In it, she explains that after the video was posted, the man’s neighbor reached out and explained that he hadn’t been home in the last three weeks. Apparently, when he was finally seen, he had bloody knuckles, which he had apparently said came from an altercation with his cousin.

As a result, the couple, as well as the man’s neighbor, have been in contact with St. Louis police to try and see if there is some kind of resolution in sight. Hopefully, the man was simply having a mental emergency and hadn’t actually harmed anyone.
