I find it incredibly disheartening whenever I see news of yet another shooting on my social media feed. It’s usually followed by other terrible news in relation to the event. This time, when I saw the news of a shooting at a Robwade concert, I was surprised to see that the conversation wasn’t about the shooter at all; it was about how many people took advantage of the emptied bar. Fortunately, a video detailing the events was recorded and then reposted to Reddit.
The video, posted by Spirited_Western_868, shows many people huddled around a bar in what appears to be a stadium hallway. The bar is completely unattended, not because of a negligent employee but because of a reported shooting at the concert. Instead of making their way to the exit, several concertgoers decided to grab as much alcohol as they could get their hands on for free.
Just as the video ends, you can see that an attendant rushes to man the bar while stragglers make their escape. Almost everyone in the video has a drink that they took from the bar in their hands. I wonder if security happened to see it all happen on the cameras.
Commenters quickly gave their opinion in the replies, with many saying they would have done the same depending on the circumstances. In fact, the top reply is a meme saying they would have done the same if the pizza at Costco was unguarded.
“Ok unironically though I feel like if it’s Costco pizza and hotdogs you cannot blame me or anybody if they grab n go with those things like they’re literal ambrosia.”
Fortunately, the shooting turned out to be a firework that had gone off nearby. However, I hope they would have acted differently had there been one. Despite that, I also think I would raid the Costco kitchen if it happened to be left unattended, but trust me, I will make sure it’s safe first.
