STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a game where your choices matter. As you progress through the main story, you will encounter various major decisions you must consider carefully. Unlike many games, there is no true right or wrong in the Zone. Each faction has its own goals and selfishness, and as a lone Stalker, you need to pick one that suits your own interests. After obtaining the Unusual PDA, you will need to decide whether or not to show it to the Ward during an interrogation scene in STALKER 2.

After returning to the Slag Heap, you will discover that the Ward soldiers have claimed the area. Diode has gone missing, and you are told to go to the second floor, where you can meet Dr. Dalin and Colonel Korshunov. During this interrogation in STALKER 2, you have a chance to show them the Unusual PDA you found on the corpse.

If you decide to show the item to Colonel Korshunov, the man will give you the Ward Badge and a free gun. While this sort of puts you into an alliance with this group, this key item will give you an easier time to progress the main quests. On the other hand, if you don’t show the device to the man, you won’t get the badge, and the story will progress normally.

  • Show the Unusual PDA: Ward Badge and the AKM-74S, Combatant gun.
  • Do not show the Unusual PDA: Scar and the Spark will not act hostile.

Other Related Decisions

This is not the only instance where you can show the Unusual PDA to others. The second time it happens is when you meet Scar again. If you have the Ward Badge, the man will throw some insults at you, but you have a chance to show them to the device. This decision doesn’t truly matter since the next quest will progress normally regardless of your choice.

The third time happens when you meet Strider and the Noontide faction. Similar to Scar, both choices will still give you the same result. The man will tell you that he needs more evidence before they can act. So, it’s better to just show the device directly instead of picking the “Your men did this” option.

I recommend showing the Unusual PDA to everyone. Unless you really hate the Ward, getting the badge will smooth things out and allow you to progress the main quest more easily. Personally, I’m also not that happy with Scar’s faction, so making them unhappy doesn’t matter to me. Again, there are no heroes in the Zone, so just make a choice that satisfies your interests.
