This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information.

At last years E3 Sony Press Conference a new playable demo titled P.T. was released.  Many flocked to play the demo, which turned out to be something else entirely: a playable teaser for a new Silent Hill(s) game.  Even bigger news was that the game was being made my Guillermo Del Toro (Pacific Rim, Pans Labyrinth) and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima.

The last few weeks though have not been kind to Kojima, with various rumors that he was fired from Konami and isn’t working on Silent Hills and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain anymore.  Knowing already that Metal Gear Solid will move on without Kojima regardless, not much was known of the status for Silent Hills.

Now comes some news that may hint at the status of the game: the P.T. demo is going to leave the PSN on April 29th on Konami’s website.

If you haven’t already but want to, you should go ahead and get the demo while it is still available.  Konami hasn’t given any other word on Silent Hills but with E3 coming up within the next few months, maybe some news will come to light.

UPDATE: After this article was written, it comes from Del Toro himself that the game is canceled.

“It’s not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart,” del Toro goes onto say.

Why is was canceled is probably (not confirmed) because of Kojima leaving Konami.  More news might come out over the next few days.
