Bigfoot or the Sasquatch is an urban legend that will likely never die off, especially now that a new “sighting” has been claimed, and in Pennsylvania, nonetheless. This time around, the allegations came from a retired Air Force veteran and civil engineer who claims he witnessed something extraordinary on Interstate 80 highway. “Experts” have since chimed in on the matter and, well, they believed him.
The sighting apparently took place early in October at around 5:30 p.m., near mile marker 169. The witness said he was driving about 150 yards behind another vehicle when he saw the figure step onto the road. “What the hell is he doing?! He’s going to get hit!” he recalled thinking during the situation. The creature, he said, towered over the car ahead, its head and shoulders visible above the vehicle’s roofline. According to the investigators, this is the exact area of the sighting:

What unsettled the Pennsylvania veteran the most wasn’t just the size of the figure, but the way it moved. He claimed that it didn’t sprint or lumber like a bear, but seemed to “glide” across all lanes of traffic in seconds before vanishing into the tree line. “I just want to add I know what I saw, but don’t know WHAT I saw,” he later told investigators. “I’m an avid hunter with +50 years in the woods. This was not a bear,” says the witness, transcript courtesy of PennLive.
As for the investigator and experts who verified the witness’s info, well, they’re none other than the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), and the specific investigator at the time has full confidence about the sighting: “I found him to be sincere and very credible.” BFRO then confirmed that the sighting was near The Dairy Barn – Nittany Valley Creamery, which was indeed adjacent to a large forest area.
People online were skeptical
Of course, there was no shortage of naysayers online, because more often than not, Bigfoot sightings were mistaken for upright bears or even men pulling off pranks. Not to mention, BFRO is the only expert in the field here. So far, it appears to this day, no person has presented conclusive evidence that Bigfoot does exist despite the breakneck pace of modern surveillance technology.
“‘Very credible’ says the Bigfoot research group,” mocks a Reddit user online. Others have joked about the sighting and the verification, “Are we certain it’s not just John Fetterman out for a walk?” and someone else replied with “Was the Bigfoot wearing a hoodie and spouting MAGA babble?”
With that said, it appears Pennsylvania Bigfoot “sightings” will continue, as the state actually ranks 3rd among the highest regions in the US where the legendary creature was sighted. Charities and for-profit events have even been raised all over Pennsylvania because of the frequency of Bigfoot sightings, regardless of how credible they are.
