Months after splitting from his third wife Christine Brown, Sister Wives star Kody Brown and wife Robyn Brown may have some brewing trouble. The two appeared engrossed in a heated argument in a clip unveiled ahead of the Season 17 premiere.
Per US Weekly, the altercation between the couple stemmed from the progressive polygamist’s earlier drama with Christine following their November 2021 split. In the clip, the 53-year-old admitted he did not understand his drama with Christine. However, Robyn’s effort to set him right resulted in a drama of their own, which would air during the premiere episode come September 11, 2022.
Kody and Robyn Brown Dissect Christine Drama
The sneak peeks into the upcoming season spotlighted Robyn Brown, who offered her husband listening ears as he aired his misgivings. Kody voiced his grievances and revealed he had no idea what happened with Christine to trigger her reaction towards him. According to him, his former wife of 25 years packed all his belongings in a box and asked him to move out.
In response, the 43-year-old tried explaining that Christine probably just needed a break, as was common in relationships. Going further, she advised her husband to take the initiative and sleep on the couch as his third wife wanted. Kody did not seem big on Robyn’s idea and made no secret of it. During his confessional interview, the father of eighteen divulged:
“I don’t want to be sexist here, but why does a guy have to sleep on the couch? It’s his room too. What’s the point of staying the night there? It’s the walk of shame. I’m not going to do it.”
Elsewhere in the clip, Robyn, who shares two children with Kody Brown, expressed her dismay over the turn of events. She also made it clear that she ultimately had Christine Brown’s back and hoped the TLC star could bring himself to fix their relationship. According to her, unfairness prevailed in plural marriages, especially for the women involved. In their case, Kody Brown always had someone else’s house to go to after his confrontations with Christine, while the latter had no one else.
Kody Thinks It Went Beyond “Needing Space”
Although Robyn maintained her opinion that Christine Brown needed space, Kody believed his third wife’s insistence he slept on the couch was some form of power play.
“I hate that idea, because first of all, it gives Christine power over where I sleep,” the Sister Wives star divulged.
The Brown family patriarch also admitted he had played the game before with his other wives. He explained how Robyn had tried kicking him out in the past, as did his second wife, Janelle Brown, and first wife, Meri Brown, whom he divorced in 2010.
Having faced his fair share of what he described as a game, Sister Wives Kody Brown was determined to stand firm in his decision not to reach a compromise with the mother of six of his kids, even if it meant butting heads with Robyn.
