A California surfer has been tagged a hero after he rescued a father and daughter struggling against the tides, about to drown. The heroic moment was captured in a viral video on X, showing the stranger jumping into action without thinking twice about it. As the video shows, the father could be seen struggling to keep his daughter, whom he carried in his hands, above the waves while simultaneously fighting to keep his head above water as well.
Despite his efforts, the father couldn’t wade against the tide. After battling alone for a while, the father cried out for help, and that was when the surfer came to their rescue.
According to reports, the hero has been identified as Lucas Tuab, a surfer who was nearby coaching a group of kids for a surf contest. As explained, Tuab dived into the water with all his clothes as soon as he saw the father and daughter in trouble. He then helped both father and daughter to the shore, where other people joined in to assist.
Tuab embodied the essence of the surfing committee, as explained by an eyewitness. “Being a surfer doesn’t just mean going to the beach and riding waves, it doesn’t just mean you’re part of a beach community either. It means you keep an eye out for each other in the water, friend or not, knowing them or not.”
