A couple of days ago, the new trailer for Shrek 5 appeared on social networks, and it took only seconds for chaos to strike. The wave of negative comments was not long in coming, first because the story will now include Shrek’s daughter, which reminded many of the Ice Age 4 story. But most felt triggered by the change in Shrek’s characters. Some believe that the complaints are exaggerated and that there is no change, but others strongly reject the new models of all the characters. Most believe that the cast of Shrek 5 looks horrible, including Sonic The Hedgehog, who even offered advice on how to look much better.
The complaints surrounding the Shrek 5 trailer focus mainly on the appearance of the characters because it looks like they changed the style. However, those who defend the new look of the ogres justify it by saying it’s because they are all older. Yet, those who disagree have shared that it’s because of the space between the characters’ eyes, the donkey looked with less hair, and Fiona and her daughter’s faces that are more cartoonish, etc. And although Puss in Boots: The Last Wish has a more cartoonish style with anime details, it doesn’t look remotely similar to the next Shrek sequel.
It seems to be the opposite problem too, where Sonic became too realistic while Shrek went too cartoonish.

The good thing is that not everything is about how bad the Shrek 5 trailer is, because Sonic uploaded a video on his official account on TikTok @sonicmovie to offer some advice on making the ogres look better. We must say that Sonic is an expert in how to get an incredible glow-up.

Many users also agreed that Sonic withstood the bullying of his first CGI model and listened to the fans, which made him as successful as he is now with three movies. Fans believe this phenomenon can happen again for Shrek 5, and the films could continue to be among the best-animated movies, as Shrek 1 and Shrek 2 were.
