Endnight Games’ latest survival horror sim, Sons of the Forest, has been met with great success, with over 400,000 players logging in on launch day through Early Access on Steam. However, Sons of the Forest is not immune to bugs and glitches, and the developers have released Hotfix 1 to address some of these issues. Here are the Sons of the Forest Hotfix 1 patch notes.
Sons of the Forest Hotfix 1 Update
The 28.1MB patch fixes two major bugs affecting players since the launch. The first issue was related to the game freezing when players attempted to remove a book from their backpacks. The second issue was an input mapping error that caused the game to freeze when players tried to skip a cutscene.
- Addressed stuttering and lag issues.
- Fix for removing the book from the backpack, locking up the game.
- Fixed an issue with input mapping.
- Added stability fixes
Despite the hotfix, a significant number of bugs and glitches are still reported in the official Steam forum, with 32 pages of bug reports dedicated to tracking errors. Endnight Games has encouraged players to report any issues and include their system information in their reports. If players can reproduce the bug, this gives the developers even more information to work with.
Endnight Games has also asked players to send save-specific issues to the official support email at the top of the thread. While other fixes may be released in the interim, the next scheduled Sons of the Forest update is on March 9, 2023.
It’s reassuring to see Endnight Games quickly addressing the bugs and glitches affecting Sons of the Forest players. The game’s incredible start has been well-received by fans, and these issues must be resolved as soon as possible to maintain player interest. As with any game in Early Access, there are bound to be bugs and glitches that need to be addressed, and Sons of the Forest is no exception.
