The Sony Marvel film Madame Web has added Celeste O’Connor. The film already includes Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney. Johnson has had roles in Fifty Shades of Grey and Suspiria. Sydney Sweeney is most known for her role as Cassie Howard in the HBO series Euphoria. Celeste O’Connor played in the film Ghostbusters: Afterlife and the Amazon series Selah and the Spades. The Sony Marvel film is based on the comic written by Denny O’Neil and illustrated by artist John Romita Jr. The titular character of the Madame Web film is a paralyzed clairvoyant elderly woman, able to see into the spider world. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless wrote the script for the film. Kerem Sanga wrote an early draft of the screenplay. Sony plans on creating more movies based on Marvel characters. S.J. Clarkson will be directing the Madame Web film.
Celeste O’Connor Is Scoring More Roles in Bigger Productions
The Amazon series Selah and the Spades may be over, but O’Connor’s career is just getting started. Celeste O’Connor will star in the upcoming Zach Braff feel-good movie A Good Person. She played “Lucky” Domingo in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. She was also in the film The In Between along with Joey King. O’Connor starred in the slasher-comedy Freaky and the Netflix film Irreplaceable You. There are no details on the role Celeste O’Connor will play for the film Madame Web. Sony still has rights to certain Marvel characters and plans on making other feature films on them. The Madame Web film will be released in theaters on July 7th, 2023. Sony has kept quiet about the plot of the Marvel film. Since this film is an origin story, this could be the only Sony Marvel film for Celeste O’Connor.
