South Carolina Mom Is Forced to Carry Her Pregnancy, Even if It Means Losing Her Life: ‘So What is it About? Control?’

Laws should not be against someone’s life

Ideally, all people should have desired pregnancies, and everything should be happy. However, not everything can be like that since there may be medical complications or issues. Yet, what should not happen is that the very law supposedly designed to protect its citizens affects them, even when it is a matter of life and death. For example, current laws force this woman in South Carolina to carry her pregnancy for more time, even when she is in extreme danger. New abortion laws to protect fetuses are making this woman’s life hang in the balance.

Redditor Witty_Heart1278 shared this video on r/southcarolina, but it belongs to elisabeth__hope’s TikTok. Elizabeth shared her sad story, saying she was very excited about her pregnancy and wanted to have her baby. We speak in the past tense because Elizabeth was feeling very sick for a few weeks, so she went to the ER, where the doctors informed her that her baby had passed away at six weeks.

Not only is Elizabeth distraught because she wanted this pregnancy, but now, because of the laws, she is forced to wait another week for the South Carolina doctors to recheck her and remove the baby so that it does not affect her health. Unfortunately, she is already 9 weeks pregnant, which means that her baby’s heart stopped and has been inside her for 3 weeks since then.

Hopefully she will not become septic. A dead baby starts to decompose and cause sepsis.

This mother must be suffering the loss of a pregnancy and a baby that she wanted with much love, but also the stress of not knowing what is going to happen to her and her health. Mainly because her body still believes that she is pregnant and cannot “get rid” of the fetus by itself, which would help Elizabeth not to gamble her life.

What gets me is that even by their own logic… This woman WANTED HER BABY.
If, as they say, they believe abortion is murder, then why does this “count”?? The baby is dead. Why even by their own logic would they force this?
So what is it about? Control?

Users are very concerned for this woman, who is clearly feeling bad about all these sad incidents. However, many are also angry that the law prevents Elizabeth from having a speedy solution. This is especially because she is no longer interfering with her pregnancy because, sadly, there isn’t a baby anymore.
