Something that brings us all together as people and internet users, no matter where we come from, is gossip. You can see that on more than one occasion, you don’t even have to know the language of the video, but just by the tone and the reactions of the people involved, you can understand a situation. Just like this video in which this Spanish man is in panic after seeing on video how his partner is cheating with another man. At no time does this hysterical man stop screaming or cursing in Spanish, and yet all the viewers are immersed and eager to know what happens next.
This video is a fragment of an episode of the reality show Temptation Island, but this was from the Spanish version. In this episode, the hostess allows the contestant Jose Carlos Montoya to see on a screen all the cameras of the whole island. Here is when the contestant finds on camera his girlfriend cuddling with another contestant on a bed and getting more and more comfortable. At this point, this man starts yelling at the screen in Spanish, getting more and more upset and almost in a state of panic to see his girlfriend cheating. So the anchorwoman tries to calm him down by saying, “Montoya, por favor” (Montoya, please), giving birth to the meme. It didn’t matter that many users who don’t speak the same language as Montoya appeared in the comments; the story hooked all of them.
well, what happens next?

As we said this video is from a reality show, which was on the air for a couple of years in the early 2000s. However, the “Montoya, please” meme had a comeback in 2025. This was so viral that even PlayStation France used it for one of their videos.
Even some Spanish-speaking users applauded the French branch, even though there is recent bitterness with France, due to issues related to the movie Emilia Perez. However, that is a very different story. It is amazing how a 20-year-old meme can return from death; no one is safe from the internet.
