Spellbreak may not be the most well-known battle royale out there, but it’s easily one of the better made. It’s a really aesthetically pleasing title, with some beautiful setpieces and abilities flying out as an elaborate song and dance. That and, well, who doesn’t want to be an element wielding wizard? With the game being over a month old though, you’re no doubt looking towards future content. In a week and a half, Proletariat will have you covered. Spellbreak’s first seasonal update, Prologue: The Gathering Storm, releases on October 22. The update brings a new mode, mechanics, and cosmetics to the already great battle royale. You can find today’s Press Accolades trailer below.

What’s Coming in Spellbreak’s First Seasonal Update?

As mentioned previously, a new mode is being introduced alongside Spellbreak’s new update. This mode is known as Clash, having two teams of nine face-off in an elimination-style team deathmatch. Each team is broken up into three squads of three and sent out to see who can wield their spells the best. These fit nicely with the new talents being introduced, letting you customize your talents further to your playstyle. Vigor brings bonus health, Ambidextrous gives your offhand element’s class ability, and Foresight reveals nearby players on your mini-map. Plenty of new toys to help you play the way you want to play.

These new additions are great and will coincide well with Spellbreak’s Hollowed Eve event. This event brings along fresh outfits, artifacts, cloudbursts, afterglows, emotes, and badges. It’ll be an exciting time for Spellbreak players later this month, but don’t just take it from me. Seth Sivak, CEO at Proletariat, had the following to say of today’s announcement:

After an incredible launch,ย Spellbreak now has millions of players around the world. This update represents the beginning of our plan to deliver robust content that offers new ways to experienceย Spellbreakโ€™s unique combat and gives players a first taste of how we plan to deliver ongoing story content.”

If you want to know more about Spellbreak, you can check out the game’s official site. Are you going to jump into Spellbreak once the new update releases? What are your thoughts on the game right now? Let me know in the comments below!
