Sony released a new Spider-Man: No Way Home poster to Twitter today and it has given fans a small, and I mean small, glimpse of the Green Goblin, amongst other villains. After teasing the character in the first official trailer with Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin heard laughing, this new poster gives us the first visual.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home poster seems to tease quite a few villains from the friendly neighborhood avenger’s past. While Green Goblin is seen flying around in the background on his Goblin Glider, Doc Ock’s metal tentacles can also be seen making a play for Tom Holland’s Spidey. A lightning bolt coming down from a darkened cloudy sky could also be a reference to Jamie Foxx’s Electro, while a large swirling dust cloud on the left may signify an appearance from Sandman. With Spider-Man possibly up against a multitude of enemies, could it be that one Spidey might not be enough?

No confirmation has been given yet as to whether Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield will be gracing the film with their presence. Garfield has continuously and adamantly denied involvement in the film, but actors have been known to fool fans before. With the appearance of so many past-film villains, there’s a good chance of seeing at least a few other characters from the past Spider-Man franchises as well. With the Multiverse unleashed, anything is on the cards. Will Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane Watson meet Zendaya’s MJ? Will Sally Field’s Aunt May meet Marisa Tomei’s iteration of the character? Either way, the film is shaping up to be as nearly filled with intrigue as Avengers: Endgame was pre-release.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is on its way, due to release December 17, 2021, at movie theaters everywhere. For anyone who hasn’t yet, watch the trailer here. Surely, an early viewing of the film will be compulsory if you are to avoid spoilers.
