A new trailer for the Hobie Brown-starring Spider-Punk: Arms Race has been unveiled by Marvel. The preview shows off the fan-favorite Spider-Punk as he rebels and rocks out in the Marvel Universe. The series, from writer Cody Ziglar and artist Justin Mason, is a follow-up to the duo’s 2022 Spider-Punk series. However, the creators promise a bigger and more riotous outing for Hobie Brown this time around. Now, this new trailer gives a small peek at what is to come for the Spider-Verse character.
Spider-Punk Rocks Out
The Spider-Punk: Arms Race trailer gives readers their first look at Hobie and his friends/bandmates in action. The quick preview ends with the promise of anarchy arriving in the Spider-Verse. The Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason series follows Spider-Punk and his Spider-Band. Together they are set to face-off against Earth-138’s version of Marvel’s iconic villains. Plus, they will team up with some of Earth-138’s heroes like Black Panther.
Over the course of Spider-Punk: Arms Race’s four issues, Hobie Brown and co. aim to rebuild their crumbling society. However, Doctor Otto Octavius and Justin Hammer keep getting in their way. Plus, the first issue will put Hobie against new Spider-Slaying Sentinels. As Hobie and his friends work to figure out who these Sentinels are and what they can do, they may find themselves in over their head.
From Comic To Film To Comic Again
Marvel’s Spider-Punk character originated in The Amazing Spider-Man #10 back in 2015. However, the character really became popular in the animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film. This led to a five-part comic series in 2022 that saw Hobie Brown protecting Earth-138 after the death of Norman Osborn. Series writer Cody Ziglar homed in on Spider-Punk’s love for music and rock and roll to solidify the character as a punk-rock hero. The series even features an actual playlist readers could listen to as they read through the comics. This tradition will continue with Spider-Punk: Arms Race.
Spider-Punk: Arms Race #1 goes on sale 02/28.
