A constituent representative in Wyoming, whose job description is to represent the interests of the people, has claimed to be oblivious to the clearly evident issues her constituents raised at a recent town hall meeting. Unfortunately, that was not the last of it.
A clip from the town hall meeting was posted on TikTok. One of the speakers at the town hall meeting asked the representative if she upholds and supports the Constitution. Defensively, she retorted, “Why don’t you just ask your question? Of course, I uphold the Constitution.”
The speaker then demanded to know why the representative hadn’t spoken against the ICE agents violating people’s Fourth Amendment rights. The MAGA representative immediately tried to wiggle her way out of the question by saying she was not so sure about the speaker’s facts, raising an uproar in the meeting about a certain leaked memo. “It is all over the internet; it came from DHS and police. So what do you say about that constitutional violation?” When the representative tried to dodge the question, the constituent accused her head-on, “You are doing nothing! As a constitutional lawyer, you should be infuriated. Why are you not?”
The MAGA representative said that she was waiting on the results of the investigation, to which the speaker responded that none had been conducted. Apparently overcome by the pressure, the representative cleared the podium of her things and walked out of the room. The constituents booed her as she walked out, calling her names.
The internet had the same reaction as the constituents. “Beautiful! Hold their feet to the proverbial fire. The GOP needs to see what happens when you continue to enable this administration. Power to the people!” one user wrote, “The power to the people is in words!!” another added. “How can they represent us if they ‘say’ they don’t know what everyone is talking about?” a TikToker asked. “Vote them out! Plain and simple. They’re avoiding their constituents,” one responded. “If you’re unable to face your constituents and answer questions, you should find a different job,” another said.
“Wow… Well, at least turnout was higher than the Melania movie. Not much… but just saying…” one user wrote, referring to the half-empty hall in the clip. “They are running scared. Good,” a netizen noted. “These cowards are really earning the right to be afraid to walk the streets. They bring shame to themselves, their families, and the fools that vote for them,” another noted.
“I am sick of these rotten sycophants forgetting who they work for. And it isn’t the criminal, rapist, traitor, and pedophile in the WH,” a user lamented. “Because there is no excuse not to call for accountability and transparency in the MAGA Republican Party. They are compromised and/ or corrupt,” another said. “When old white men start saying ‘you’re chicken [Expletive],’ count your days, lady,” a last user wrote.
