Leonard Nimoy passed away over a year ago, but both he, and his iconic character of Spock in the Star Trek series, are not forgotten.
His son, Adam Nimoy, decided to commemorate his father by creating a documentary. The film, called For the Love of Spock, will debut on Saturday, April 16, at the Tribeca Film Festival. A trailer for the upcoming release dropped today, containing a few small snippets of what we might expect.

For the Love of Spock contains many interviews from people who knew and worked with Leonard Nimoy throughout his career, including William Shatner, George Takei, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, and many others. Quinto, who portrays Spock in the more recent Star Trek films, is narrating the documentary.
Adam Nimoy’s film was crowd-funded on Kickstarter for over $600,000 – a small glimpse of how much fans loved Leonard Nimoy and his Vulcan character. As the trailer states, Nimoy was fantastic in his role, and really embodied Spock well. He created a character that the audience came to love, one that is still cherished today because of the work Nimoy put into his acting.
As for his son Adam, this is not the first time the later Nimoy has been in the director’s chair. Adam Nimoy worked in the more business side of show business before moving into directing TV shows. He has directed episodes of NYPD Blue, The Practice, Ally McBeal and Gilmore Girls.
