Square Enix has announced that they will be holding an E3 showcase for the first time since 2015.
Instead of hosting a traditional conference like Microsoft, Sony, Bethesda, and Ubisoft, Square Enix will have something like the Nintendo Direct. For those of you who don’t know how that will work, these types of presentations are live-streamed to the viewer but the video is produced in advance.
As for what games will be revealed, we know that Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be at E3 and that will most likely be the main attraction for their showcase.
Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy, and Life is Strange are titles that are now heavily rumored to be shown off in some capacity at this event. It will be interesting to see if Square Enix has anything to reveal regarding the untitled Avengers project that was announced back in January 2017.
During their last briefing back at E3 2015, Square Enix revealed titles like Kingdom Hearts 3, Just Cause 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Hopefully, the developing studio can provide the same level of quality reveals this year as they have in the past.
As for what I am looking forward to, the untitled Avengers project is at the top of the list. Since its announcement, many critics and everyday gamers have hyped up the upcoming project as the next Destiny (much like the hype behind Bioware’s Anthem).
