The new trailer for Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 was unveiled at New York Comic Con 2018. Unsurprisingly, it took fans to places no fan had previously been before – among other things, seeing a younger Spock.
It also gives us glimpses of Number One, and oozes action and suspense at every turn. It looks to be just as epic as the show’s first season. Be sure to check out the trailer below:

As stated before, the trailer gives us the first look at Spock. This iteration of the famous Vulcan of the Starship Enterprise is played by Ethan Peck. Long-time fans of the Star Trek universe may be surprised by how pretty and young this version is, compared to Leonard Nimoy’s character!
Addressing the casting in August, executive producer, and showrunner Alex Kurtzman couldn’t have been more positive about the decision. He felt that Peck “brought incomparable humanity to a character forever torn between logic and emotion”. According to him, Peck walked into auditions displaying all the right qualities of the character. Time will tell as to whether you agree.
Star Trek: Discovery has so far received generally positive reviews, garnering an 82% Rotten Tomatoes rating. It also has a predictably loyal fanbase.
In a recent panel at Fan Expo Canada, Soneqa Martin-Green (who plays First Officer Michael Burnham) enthused about the new season:
“It’s incredible. “I just think it’s genius to have us be set where we are, 10 years before TOS and to have Burnham be connected to that institution that is the family of Sarek and Amanda and Spock. I just am so appreciative of it. It’s so full. It’s so full, it’s wrought with everything. And then I end up being two degrees separated from Captain Pike and that’s really interesting too, to be able to have that sort of connection to the canon. I really loved that because one of the things we are doing in our iteration, on Star Trek: Discovery, is being our own thing, but also keeping that connection with us in the canon and having that connective tissue. So, I really appreciate it, and it is juicy!”
