Although the official Star Wars Battlefront beta experience isn’t coming until early October, many gamers have had the chance to mess around with Alpha build of Battlefront. As reported by Polygon, footage of the Alpha release is making its way around the internet, again — of course it’s a Hoth level. With the Beta release in October, gamers will also be playing the “Walker Assault on Hoth” which allows up to 40 players, in both the Rebel and Empire teams, to blast mercilessly along the snow covered crags of Hoth.

With the Alpha in full swing since July, avid (and lucky) Battlefront fans have been able to practice their blaster and lightsaber skills… oh yeah, Vader and Skywalker are available in the Beta as well. But we don’t just have to settle for one level and accompanying mode. No, EA has also stated that “The Beta will also feature our Survival Mission on Tatooine, where you and a Rebel friend must fight back waves of Imperial forces.  In addition to those two modes, we are excited to reveal a brand-new mode that will be available in the Beta, Drop Zone. We’ll be sharing more details on Drop Zone in the weeks ahead”.

Drop Zone is similar to the “King of the Hill” variants in other MP titles, the difference in Battlefront coming from the 8 pods that drop from the heavens, leaving you to scramble for the contested zone. Again, EA wants you to think tactically: “Drop Zone is all about action and quick thinking, forcing Rebels and Imperial troops to always be on their feet. Though captured pods need to be defended, static players standing in a cluster too close to their pod always run the risk of being hit by explosives or a well-placed Orbital Strike”.

Star Wars Battlefront is dropping November 17th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you excited enough to join in the Beta next month? Let us know in the comments below.
