Fans of Star Wars Battlefront II have been eagerly waiting for the release of the Battle on Scarif update. It’s bringing along some new updates in the form of bringing some maps into new modes. There’s unfortunate news coming with that update, revealed that it’d be the last content update for Star Wars Battlefront II. This is quite unfortunate, but understandable considering the number of updates the game has received and its lifecycle. EA took to their official blog to discuss their reasoning along with detail what’s coming in the Battle on Scarif update. They’ve also commemorated the news with a new trailer.

Star Wars Battlefront 2: The Battle on Scarif โ€“ Community Update

First of all, why this is the last update, after a massive 25 updates bringing new content, EA believes the game is in the vision they initially set out. The game has a breadth of content from every area of Star Wars, leaving players plenty to play with. There really isn’t much else that can be done for the game, though, making it a pretty solid place to stop. EA promises that the game will still receive regular support in the form of bug fixes, challenges, and minor events. There just won’t be any big updates to get excited about, and that’s honestly okay. Hopefully, you’ve enjoyed the released content so far, and enjoy Star Wars Battlefront II in the months and years to come.

In case you didn’t already know, Battle on Scarif brings several maps to both Supremacy and Instant Action. Players of those modes will finally get their chance to get in on the maps, which should be more than exciting. With those maps, though, comes an entirely new map known as Scarif (as the update name may imply). This map will be available in Supremacy, Instant Action, Heroes and Villains, and Co-Op. There are tons of other updates for Star Wars Battlefront II, and you can read more in the official blog post here. Battle on Scarif releases tomorrow on all platforms.
