After receiving high praise from fans and critics, there is a possibility that Star Wars fans can look forward to Obi-Wan Kenobi season two. While the show’s ratings have seen some fluctuation, it remains one of the higher-rated Star Wars entries. And after an acclaimed season finale, fans are hoping for a second season. Now MovieWeb reports that Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has given fans hope, saying there is a possibility. Kennedy said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight,

“Well, frankly, we did set out to do that as a limited series, but I think if there’s huge engagement and people really want more Obi-Wan, we’ll certainly give that consideration because the fans, they speak to us. And if we feel like, ‘OK, there’s a real reason to do this; it’s answering the why then,’ then we’ll do it. But we’ll see.”

Warning: Spoilers Ahead

Obi-Wan Kenobi ended on quite a high note, featuring an epic show-down between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader, the return of Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Gin, a surprise cameo by Ian McDiarmid as Emperor Palpatine (a.k.a. Darth Sidious), and Obi-Wan’s first meeting with Luke Skywalker. With so much packed into one episode, it’s no surprise that some want a second season. As a matter of fact, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have both said there is more to explore and that they want Obi-Wan Kenobi season two. Christensen will soon appear in the upcoming series Ahsoka.

While nothing has been confirmed, the character development between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker) went to great places in the finale, and few viewers would object to Obi-Wan Kenobi season two. Until something is made official, Star Wars fans will have to settle for Ahsoka and season three of The Mandalorian. Chances are those fans aren’t complaining.
