Star Wars fans have some good news to welcome them into 2024 about the upcoming Ubisoft open-world Star Wars game. The official Walt Disney Parks Blog published a list of “24 Things Coming in 2024” for fans of Disney to look forward to. Among the many Disney-related news items and announcements coming during the new year, Star Wars Outlaws was included on the list. But the exact timeframe of the game’s release is still unknown.
The Disney Parks blog discusses what eager fans will be doing in the newest Star Wars game coming in 2024. “Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world Star Wars game is set to release in 2024. The game lets you explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. You can risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. If you’re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity.”
When the blog post was originally published, the text in the section about Star Wars Outlaws stated that the game was set to release in late 2024. Multiple outlets reported on this after the post initially went live. This led to many speculating that Ubisoft’s Star Wars game may be released just in time for the holiday season of 2024.
However, Ubisoft reached out to outlets like IGN with a statement to correct everything. Ubisoft confirmed that the text in the Disney Parks blog was changed to 2024 instead of late 2024. They did not confirm any specific time during the year for the game’s release.
Star Wars Outlaws is the first open-world style game set in a galaxy far, far away. A gameplay reveal trailer and breakdown was shared by Ubisoft back in the summer of 2023. Players will be following the scoundrel Kay Vess and her partner Nix as they try to make a place for themselves in a galaxy divided by civil war. Not only will you get to explore multiple planets but also align yourself with various syndicates within the Star Wars underworld. Star Wars Outlaws is set to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
