Bethesda fans will all sigh in relief after the official Starfield Preload dates were revealed for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Thankfully, there’s not too long to wait for those clamoring to explore the cosmos in the highly anticipated title. The preload dates were revealed alongside the news that the space-opera epic has gone gold and is all set to meet its September release date.

The official preload dates for Starfield will begin as early as tomorrow, Aug 17. for those who will be playing the game on PC and Xbox series X/S. However, players hoping to experience the game on Steam will have to endure a slightly longer wait. Preload dates won’t kick off on that platform until Wednesday, Aug 30. Starfield is an absolute humungous beast of a game and boasts a whopping file size of 125GB. Players will welcome these preload dates as they will have plenty of time to install the game and be ready to play on launch.
Over the course of this week, Bethesda has begun to up its marketing efforts for Starfield as anticipation continues to build to an all-time high. The studio recently revealed an official timeline on its website that covers the extensive lore that will form the basis for the game’s story. The dense fictional history in Starfield is packed full of interstellar conflict, alien artifacts, and a mysterious station that surveys deep space. It’s enough to leave any Bethesda fan practically salivating.

It was also revealed that a fan-favorite feature will make a much-requested return in Starfield. Much like beloved titles, Skyrim and Fallout, character creation in Bethesda’s sci-fi odyssey will be practically boundless. Players can customize their character’s appearance and background to their heart’s desire while managing abilities across five unique skill trees.
Starfield is set to release on Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 6.
