The fact that Starfield had a few troubles during its launch isn’t news anymore. However, that doesn’t mean the game was bad. On the contrary, it gave us a new Bethesda game full of that environmental narrative we love. But most importantly, it provided a blank canvas for modders. After much waiting, the developers revealed during the recent Xbox Showcase the release of the official Creation Kit for Starfield. Which, in my opinion, is what the game needed to bring all space adventurers back. So, if you’ve experienced every mod in Skyrim and Fallout 4, prepare to take it to the skies tonight.
That’s right. Gamers worldwide can enjoy the power of Starfield‘s Creation Kit tonight. The exact time is uncertain, but modders are hours away from revamping the game. If you are not familiar with the official mod tools, they are the door to a new dimension in any Bethesda game. In a less cheesy way of saying, it is the suite of tools capable of tweaking any aspect of the game. With these tools, players have created some of the most intricate mods in games like Skyrim, Fallout: New Vegas, etc.
While this might seem insignificant for someone who already finished the game, it shouldn’t. For example, I finished Skyrim years ago, and I still have a 250 GB modlist on my PC that overhauls every aspect of the decade-old game. So, imagine what modders will be capable of doing with Starfield. Did you feel the space exploration was lackluster? Leave it to modders. Do you want better RPG mechanics? Modders will help with that. It truly is a big event for every Starfield player and one of the biggest surprises Bethesda could’ve given us.
